About: Durham County Library will host UNC-Chapel Hill professor Dr. William Rohe for a lecture on the history and future of the Research Triangle Park at 7 p.m. on Monday, August 26, at the Main Library, 300 N. Roxboro Street.

Located in the heart of the Triangle and spanning nearly 7,000 acres, RTP is home to more than 170 companies and employs more than 39,000 workers in all areas of science and technology. Rohe will discuss the many new developments being planned for the Park, including housing.

Rohe is the author of The Research Triangle: From Tobacco Road to Global Prominence. He is a Cary C. Boshamer Distinguished Professor and Director of the Center for Urban and Regional Studies at UNC-Chapel Hill. He has written numerous journal articles on housing and community development and practice, and has conducted sponsored research for various organizations, including the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. A book signing will follow the discussion.
