Program: In the Wings: PlayMakers on The Mountaintop

About: Durham County Library will host the directors and members of the cast from PlayMakers production of Katori Hall’s The Mountaintop, for a discussion of this powerful play set in Memphis on April 3, 1968. The program takes place at 7 p.m. on Monday, September 16, at the Main Library, 300 N. Roxboro St.
The discussion will be led by Artistic Director Jeff Meanza and Director Raelle Myrick-Hodges. The play tells the story of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. the day he delivered his “I’ve Been to the Mountaintop” speech and the evening before his assassination. Variety called the play, “emotionally powerful and theatrically stunning.”
