Durham County Library Hosts Special Valentine’s Day Programs

Program: Neighbor to Neighbor Special Valentine’s Day Programs
Date: Friday, February 14
Time: Meet the Author: Janice Mack Guess, 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Family Fun Friday – Learn About Valentine’s Day, 3 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Location: Bragtown Library Family Literacy Center, 3200 Dearborn Dr.
Cost: Free and open to the public

About: Durham County Library will host two special programs at the Bragtown Library on Valentine’s Day. The first features Janice Mack Guess, author of Little Colored Girls Want to Wear Pearls, Too! The book is a memoir that highlights the 1964 desegregation of Brogden Junior High School. Guess will do a reading and a book signing. The event takes place at 11 a.m.

The second program is a Family Fun Friday event exploring the meaning of Valentine’s Day and celebrating the holiday with games, crafts and refreshments. This event is appropriate for all ages and takes place at 3 p.m.
