Durham County Library Hosts Art with the Experts: Sound Vision

About: Durham County Library will host Juline Chevalier and Trevor Schoonmaker for a discussion and slide lecture on the Nasher Museum of Art’s current exhibit, Sound Vision: Contemporary Art from the Collection, at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29, at the Main Library, 300 N. Roxboro St.

Sound Vision highlights recent acquisitions of contemporary art and other works from the Nasher Museum of Art’s collection. It includes 37 works from both emerging artists, such as Njideka Akunyili and Dario Robleto, and established artists, such as Michelangelo Pistoletto of the Arte Povera movement and pop art icon Andy Warhol. Paintings, photography, video and sculpture are all included. The exhibit will be on view until August 3, 2014.

Chevalier is Curator of Education and Schoonmaker is Chief Curator and Patsy R. and Raymond D. Nasher Curator of Contemporary Art, both at the Nasher Museum of Art.
