Durham County Library Offers Free Plants

Program: Digging Durham Seed Library Plant Giveaway

Location: Main Library, 300 N. Roxboro St.
Cost: Free and open to the public

DURHAM — As part of Durham County Library’s Digging Durham Seed Library, Craig LeHoullier, aka the Tomato Man, will be giving away tomato plants (including heirlooms and dwarfs), eggplant and pepper plants on Friday, May 30, at 8 a.m. in the Main Library parking lot. LeHoullier will also share stories about how he acquired the seeds to grow the plants and his seed saving efforts. Limit: 3 plants per family. The Main Library is located at 300 N. Roxboro St.

The Digging Durham Seed Library, which makes seeds available to library patrons for “checkout,” is sponsored by Durham Library Foundation. For more information about Digging Durham, visit durhamcountylibrary.org/seeds.
