Southern Discomfort
When Southern Discomfort begins, the formal swearing-in ceremony of Deborah Knott as North Carolina's newest district court judge is taking place. At the reception, she's reminded of a campaign promise she made: to help build a local WomenAid house. But before the house is complete, it's the scene of a violent assault on one of Deborah's nieces...and the death of her assailant. Could one of Deborah's family members have killed him? And how did arsenic get into the bloodstream of both the dead man and one of Deborah's brothers?
