3:00 pm - 4:30 pm
Continuing our remembrance of Freedom Summer, join Dr. Bob Zellner, historian and civil rights activist, for a reading and discussion of his memoir, The Wrong Side of Murder Creek: A White Southerner in the Freedom Movement. The son and grandson of Klansmen, he became the first white southerner to serve as a field secretary of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC). Zellner was insulted, violently attacked, beaten unconscious and arrested many times. A book signing will follow the reading.
