Jordan High School opened in 1963 as the first desegregated school in the Durham County system. In Not the End, but the Beginning: The Impact of Race and Class on the History of Jordan High School, teacher and historian Brian McDonald explores the issues of race and class at the school during this time. After a reading, McDonald will facilitate a panel discussion with some of the school’s early students, staff and faculty. A book signing will follow.
