OverDrive Kids
All of Durham County Library’s ebooks for kids in one place. Powered by OverDrive, this page presents our easy reading and juvenile collections in a kid-friendly format. Checkout and download works in the same way as the regular OverDrive ebook collection.

Project Gutenberg Public Domain Ebooks
Choose from thousands of books in the public domain through OverDrive’s Project Gutenberg section. These titles include classic authors such as Charles Dickens, Jane Austen, mark Twain and many more. Ebooks in this collection come in the EPUB format and do not count against your OverDrive ebook checkout limit.

NC LIVE Ebooks
Searchable database of hundreds of ebooks. Includes many academic publications and classic literature. This collection also contains many titles related to North Carolina history, culture and geography. Ebooks downloaded from NC LIVE are viewable on computers and mobile devices. NC LIVE’s Home Grown Ebook Collection
NC LIVE’s new “Home Grown” ebook collection includes over 1,200 fiction and nonfiction titles from North Carolina publishers spanning a wide range of topics, from history and culture, to cooking and travel.

TumbleBooks provides online animated fiction and nonfiction picture books online. Children follow along on a computer or mobile web browser as books are read-aloud with animated pictures. The site also includes many books in Spanish and French, making it an excellent resource for language learners. More info.
