Scope and Content: The Lela Stone Taylor Collection, 1922-1940s, consists of a scrapbook, clippings, photographs, and correspondence. Lela Stone Taylor was a 1922 graduate of Durham High School and a life-long Durham resident. The scrapbook contains mostly graduation mementos and photographs along with some earlier and later materials. Lela Stone Taylor’s 1922 Durham High School Yearbook is catalogued with other Durham High School yearbooks (NC373.756M).

Biographical Note: A lifelong Durham resident, Lela Stone Taylor (1904-1984) was a 1922 graduate of Durham High School. She married Eugene Hugh Taylor.

The contents of this folder include an undated program from a piano recital given by the students of Mrs. Frederick E. Wilson; two 1941 service bulletins from First Baptist Church; a 1929 program from the sixth annual banquet of the Commercial Club; an undated program from the play, “Abie’s Irish Rose”; and a 1923 program from Durham High School’s “Academy of Music.”
