| Biographical/Historical Note: | George W. Burch was head of the flavoring department at Blackwell’s Durham Tobacco Company from as early as 1887 to around 1908. From 1908 to 1910 he worked for a short-lived New York-based company, Khedivial Tobacco Company, which opened a cigarette factory in Durham while an anti-trust lawsuit was pending against the American Tobacco Company (owner of the Blackwell company beginning in 1901). | ||
