Durham County Library Hosts Author Mur Lafferty

About: Durham County Library will host award-winning Durham author Mur Lafferty for a reading and book discussion at 3 p.m. on Saturday, February 8, at the Southwest Regional Library, 3605 Shannon Rd.

Lafferty’s novel, The Shambling Guide to New York City, was given a starred review in Kirkus, and called a “hip, knowing and sometimes hysterically funny narrative, interspersed with excerpts from the guide of the title.” Lafferty also hosts an award-winning podcast I Should Be Writing. Mur will read from her books, including her forthcoming title, Ghost Train to New Orleans, and discuss her podcasts and more. A book signing will follow the reading.

Lafferty attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and graduated with a degree in English. She won the 2013 John W. Campbell Memorial Award for the best new writer.
