About: Durham County Library will host a panel discussion with the manager and farmers of the South Durham Farmers’ Market at 3 p.m. on Sunday, January 12 at South Regional Library, 4505 S. Alston Ave.
The South Durham Farmers’ Market (SDFM) has enjoyed success since opening in April of 2012. Unlike the Durham Farmers’ Market, SDFM has a membership structure, although everyone is welcome to shop. The panel will feature SDFM manager Elizabeth Zander and farmers Stephanie Hall of Sassafras Fork, Matt Ball of Down 2 Earth Farm, Mark Paylor of 4M Farms, Liz Young of S&H Farm and Ben Bergmann of Fickle Creek. Participants will discuss the history and future of Durham’s newest market.
