Forced to become more interactive with his youngest daughter and his neighbors when he agrees to allow his long-deceased wife’s art studio be used as a childcare/school; seventy-year- old Percy Darling experiences an emotional renewal . He falls in love with a free-spirited 50ish artist who has adopted a toddler enrolled at the school. When he discovers a lump in her breast and pesters her until she consults a doctor (Note—his daughter is the top cancer surgeon in the area.) Conflict abound in his life. That plot combined with the plot concerning his grandson’s involvement with a eco-terrorist makes an interesting read. The book does validate the idea that people can fall in love no matter their age. And survivors change as the circumstances do.
