Self-Publishing Workshops

Self-Publishing Workshop imageIf you’ve ever had any interest in self-publishing your writing, you’ll want to join us for a two-part Self-Publishing Boot Camp from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Apr. 18 and May 2, at the Stanford L. Warren Branch Library, 1201 Fayetteville St.

Topics covered by authors and publishing professionals during the two sessions will include a review of the various publishing formats, an introduction to preparing a manuscript, discussion of how to identify readership and make a book reader-friendly, overview of the editing and design process, outline of how to obtain ISBN numbers, discussion of copyright, conversation on promoting and selling the finished product, and other topics.

Presenters will include Barbara Williams, book designer and publisher with BW&A Books, Inc.; Jon Batson, author, entertainer and publisher; and Trice Hickman, award-winning author.

    What an awesome program! There are so many would-be authors that just don’t know where to start. This is a wonderful resource.
