Program: Durham County Library Summer Reading Kickoff at Northgate Mall

DURHAM – Durham County Library will celebrate the start of Summer Reading 2016 with the Kickoff on Saturday, June 11 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Northgate Mall, 1058 W. Club Blvd. The festivities will take place on the Plaza, which is on the theater end of the mall. This fun-filled celebration is free and open to the public and will include everything from live performances on the Center Stage to face painting and bounce houses.
All Durham County Library locations will be closed until 2 p.m. that Saturday, June 11 in order for library staff to make sure the Summer Reading Kickoff is a success. For more information about the Kickoff, contact Lynne Barnette at firstname.lastname@example.org or 919-560-8597.
Summer Reading runs from June 11 through August 6. Children, teens and adults can register online at durhamcountylibrary.org/summerreading or at any Durham County Library location. Once registered, participants can start earning and logging points starting Saturday, June 11.
Summer Reading, the library’s most popular program, is sponsored by Coca-Cola Bottling Company, Durham Arts Council, Durham Central Park, Durham County Government, Durham Library Foundation, Durham History Hub, Durham Public Schools, Friends of the Durham Library, The Herald-Sun, Northgate Mall, The Regulator Bookshop, United Way of the Greater Triangle and Univision.
