About: Durham County Library hosted a successful Summer Reading Kickoff for kids and teens earlier this month, and now it’s time to kick off Summer Reading for adults this Friday, June 24 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Main Library, 300 N. Roxboro St.
Bring your blanket and a good book to listen to blues on the lawn of the Durham County Main Library. Squier Red and the Blues Band will perform original tunes and old favorites. All the members of the band are members of Squier Red’s Blues Performers Meetup Group. Also, up-and-coming teen vocalist Alexis Stay Poppin will perform her first newly released single.
While the adult program kickoff celebration isn’t until June 24, registration for Summer Reading is already open. Sign up today at durhamcountylibrary.org/summerreading or at your local library. You can start reading and winning prizes today!
