About: Durham County Library is hosting Duke University’s FEMMES (Females Excelling More in Math, Engineering, and Science) Connect program presenting a screening of the film Big Dream on Saturday, October 15 at 3 p.m. at Main Library, 300 N. Roxboro St. in Durham. The event is free and open to the public. It is especially appropriate for teens interested in math, engineering and science.
Big Dream is a documentary made in part by Microsoft that follows seven young women who are breaking barriers in the STEM fields. Join participants in the FEMMES Connect program to watch and discuss this film. Registration is required. Register through Durham County Library’s online calendar.
FEMMES is a student-led education outreach organization whose mission is to engage girls in the STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) fields through exciting hands-on activities and mentorship from female students and research faculty at universities.
