Main Library in downtown Durham closed to the public in January of this year after the passing of a bond referendum on November 8, 2016. Since then, the collection has been moved out of Main Library, staff have relocated, the North Carolina Collection, the MakerLab, and the Friends Book Sale have all moved to Northgate, materials from inside Main Library have been salvaged, and the building has been cleared out. Celebrate the next exciting phase of the transformation as we move into construction. This long-awaited renovation will provide additional space, updated facilities, and enhanced technology to Main Library in downtown Durham.
