Program: Books Among Friends – Book Sale

Durham, NC – The Friends of the Durham Library’s next book sale is Saturday, August 12 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Books Among Friends. Books Among Friends is located inside Northgate, 1058 W Club Blvd, Suite 252, Durham, NC 27701. If you enter the mall through Sears, Books Among Friends is immediately on your right.
The August 12 book sale is open to the public. No Friends membership is required, but consider joining the Friends and getting involved. Beginning at 2 p.m. everything in the collection will be on sale for half price.
Explore the new space and the array of gently used books and media for sale, including popular titles, DVDs, audiobooks, and rare books. Unless otherwise marked, hardbacks are $3, trade paperbacks and other larger paperbacks are $2 and mass market paperbacks are $1. Everything else is priced as marked.
In addition to the large sales at Books Among Friends, a smaller selection of books are available every day at mini book sales at the Durham Co-op Market, Stanford L. Warren Branch Library, and all of Durham County Library’s regional libraries.
Donations keep the Friends going. The highest need at this time is for contemporary nonfiction and children’s books. Books Among Friends accepts book donations every Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. The Friends of the Durham Library, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to fostering the goals of Durham County Library. Its mission is to raise and expend funds for materials, services and programs not normally provided for in the library’s operating budget. The Friends work with library administration and staff, the Board of Trustees of the Durham County Library, and the Durham Library Foundation for the betterment of the library, its patrons, and the community.
