Durham, NC – Durham County Library hosts a presentation by Frank Hyman, “The Neo-Confederates Don’t Know Their History.” The program will be Saturday, September 9 at 2 p.m. at North Regional Library, 221 Milton Rd., Durham, NC 27712. The event is free and open to the public.

Frank Hyman’s essay “The Confederacy Was a Con Job on White People and Still Is” can be found online in over a dozen newspapers. Did you also know that a majority of Tarheels voted against secession? Hyman asserts that while neo-Confederates like Rep. Larry Pittman are gaining power, they don’t know their history. As part of the discussion, Hyman will offer strategies for countering “alternative facts.” Hyman lives in Durham, where he has held two local elected offices. He’s a carpenter, stonemason, and policy analyst for Blue Collar Comeback.
