Durham, NC – Durham County Library presents Meet the Author: Kevin McLaughlin on Tuesday, August 29 at 6 p.m. at Stanford L. Warren Branch Library, 1201 Fayetteville St., Durham, NC 27707. This program is free and open to the public.

Meet Durham-based writer Kevin McLaughlin for a reading from his book, Innocent: A Spirit of Resilience. McLaughlin’s co-author and subject of the book, Opwonya Innocent, will attend the event via Skype from Germany. The book shares the powerful and inspiring life story of Innocent, a Ugandan former child soldier who has faced daunting challenges to continue to realize his dreams of creating a better world for northern Uganda’s poor and marginalized. Books will be available for purchase and signing. Light refreshments will be provided.

    Wow, that book has nothing but great reviews on Amazon. It sounds like a powerful story. I’m gonna try to make it to the signing on the 29th. Thanks.
