Durham, NC – Durham County Library presents Summer Reading 2018: Libraries Rock! – Kickoff Celebration on June 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Northgate (1058 W Club Blvd, Durham, NC 27701). Join in the fun on the Plaza with family-friendly activities, performers, face painters, and crafts!
Joshua Lozoff, a magician, will be performing his amazing stage show at 11 a.m. Uncle Ty-Rone, a ventriloquist and puppeteer will be entertaining all ages with his talents at 1 p.m. Be sure to stop by the Friends of the Durham Library’s book sale at Books Among Friends inside Northgate, open June 9 and 10 – see FriendsoftheDurhamLibrary.org for sale hours.
Summer Reading is free and open to the public. Sign up online at DurhamCountyLibrary.org/SummerReading or at any Durham County Library location. People of all ages are encouraged to participate. Free programs are offered throughout the summer at Durham County Library locations and throughout the community. Sign up now and start earning points on June 9 by reading, attending library programs, visiting different libraries, exploring a library database or electronic resource, or volunteering in the community.
The popular Summer Fine Read Down is back again! Reduce your library fines by reading – just bring your reading materials to the information desk at a Durham County Library, sign in with a librarian each time you want to participate, and read at the library.
