Durham, NC – Durham County Library presents Documentary: First Lady of the Revolution on Thursday, September 20 at 6:30 p.m. at Durham Arts Council, 120 Morris St., Durham, NC 27701. This event is free and open to the public.

In honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month, we will be screening a new documentary, First Lady of the Revolution: A Southern Belle’s Journey Through Love, Exile, and Revolution. Alabama debutante Henrietta Boggs traveled to Costa Rica in 1941. She met and married Jose ‘Don Pepe’ Figueres and began a “…decade-long journey through activism, exile, and political upheaval.” Come see this remarkable film, followed by a Q&A with local experts on the region.
