Durham, NC – Durham County Library presents Meet the Author: Malinda Maynor Lowery on Sunday, January 13 at 3 p.m. at North Regional Library, 221 Milton Rd., Durham, NC 27712. This event is free and open to the public.

Malinda Maynor Lowery (Lumbee) is associate professor of history and director of the Center for the Study of the American South at UNC-Chapel Hill. Come hear Ms. Lowery speak about her new book, The Lumbee Indians: An American Struggle. From the publisher: “…the Lumbee people’s struggle for justice and self-determination continues to transform our view of the American experience. Readers of this book will never see Native American history the same way.” A Q&A will follow the reading. Books will be available for sale.
