Malinda Maynor Lowery (Lumbee) is associate professor of history and director of the Center for the Study of the American South at UNC-Chapel Hill. Come hear Ms. Lowery speak about her new book, The Lumbee Indians: An American Struggle. From the publisher: “…the Lumbee people’s struggle for justice and self-determination continues to transform our view of the American experience. Readers of this book will never see Native American history the same way.” A Q&A will follow the reading. Books will be available for sale.
