BookPage is a monthly readers’ advisory magazine which is distributed to patrons in library locations and by outreach staff. Financial support for this magazine has come from the Friends of the Durham Library. In 2019, the annual subscription for 650 copies per month was $2,496.

Library staff consistently affirm the popularity of this magazine with patrons. OASIS (Older Adult & Shut-In Services) staff member Priscilla Barbee says, “OASIS patrons really look forward to getting the monthly BookPage … it really helps patrons choose what books they would like to read.” Phil Locey, Adult Services Manager at East Regional Library, observes, “… it’s obviously popular. The copies are consistently gone/used by the middle of the month.” Southwest Regional Library Adult Services Manager Leah Tietje-Davis says, “The consensus is that BookPage is ‘intensely popular’ … we always run out; currently, we are half-way through the number of copies for the current issue (being out only a week). Also, patrons tend to ask if there are more copies available or when we’ll get the next issue.”
