The Economist magazine will leave Libby/OverDrive Magazines February 1

The Economist magazine will no longer be available through Durham County Library’s Libby/OverDrive Magazines site effective February 1.

We realize that The Economist is a popular magazine that many of our cardholders greatly enjoy. Unfortunately, OverDrive is removing the title because of newly required lending model changes by The Economist that are not compatible with how other magazines are made available in Libby/OverDrive. We’re very sorry to no longer be able to offer this resource.

The last issue for readers to borrow will be January 28, 2023. Effective February 1, all editions and back issues of The Economist will be removed from the OverDrive Magazines collections.

For those who have enjoyed The Economist’s coverage, the good news is that OverDrive Magazines carries over 100 magazines in the subject area of news and politics and continues to add new magazines regularly.
