Announcement About New Books

As many of you may have noticed, there has been a decrease in the number of new books on the shelves at Durham County Library. Our primary book supplier, Baker & Taylor, is unexpectedly ceasing operations at the end of 2025 and can no longer fill most orders.

While we are working to resolve the situation and buy what we can through other sources, it will likely take some time before our book ordering is able to return to normal levels. Many public libraries across the country are facing the same circumstances, with wait times for new books taking much longer than usual.
