East Regional Library to Close Temporarily for Painting
Reminder that all Library locations are closed Nov. 11 for Veterans Day
Durham, NC — East Regional Library will close to the public at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, and remain closed through Friday, November 13, due to scheduled painting of the building’s interior spaces by Durham County’s General Services Department. It will reopen to the public at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 14.
Staff will remove books from shelves that are attached to walls in the late afternoon closure on Tuesday and will replace those books on the shelves up until opening on Saturday, November 14.
East Regional Library’s exterior drop-off locations will also not be available during this time. For East Regional patrons who wish to drop off their materials, the Bragtown Branch Library (3200 Dearborn Drive) and Main Library (300 N. Roxboro Street) are the closest locations.
A reminder that all Durham County Library locations are closed in observance of the Veteran’s Day Holiday on Wednesday, November 11. All other locations will reopen with normal hours on Thursday, November 12.
All Durham County Library digital resources will be available during the closure. You can access them, as well as find all location hours of operation, on our website at DurhamCountyLibrary.org.
