Durham County Library is pleased to announce the reopening of Main Library, located at 300 N. Roxboro Street, today, July 28 at 9:30 a.m. following a brief closure due to unexpected HVAC issues.

Durham County Library’s Main Library, located at 300 N. Roxboro Street, will close today, July 26, at 3 p.m. due to an unexpected HVAC issue. Main Library will reopen as soon as possible once the repairs have been completed.

Durham County Library has new, expanded business hours beginning Tuesday, July 20.

Durham County Library is absolutely thrilled to announce that Main Library in downtown Durham reopens its doors to the public on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at 2 p.m. Located at 300 N. Roxboro Street, Durham, NC 27701, the fully renovated, four-story building features an outdoor terrace and green roof, two maker spaces, public computers, space to work and learn, and a fabulous collection of books for all ages.

Durham County Library’s Summer of Learning 2021 begins June 14 and ends July 30. Join us this summer for activities, prize drawings, and of course, reading! Anyone is welcome to participate – we have programs available for all ages.

Beginning Tuesday, May 4, 2021, Durham County Regional (East, North, South, and Southwest) and Branch (Bragtown and Stanford L. Warren) Libraries will be available at a limited capacity for one-hour walk-in visits to browse and check out materials or to use the computers. Face masks for ages two and older and screening at the door, including temperature checks, are required to enter.
