¿Qué es la Semana de los Libros Prohibidos?

Según la Asociación Americana de Bibliotecas: ”La Semana de los Libros Prohibidos” fue lanzada en 1982 en respuesta al repentino aumento de la censura a libros en las bibliotecas, librerías y escuelas. Al centrarse en los esfuerzos para remover las restricciones en el acceso a libros, la Semana de los Libros Prohibidos llama la atención a nivel nacional sobre los prejuicios de la censura. Normalmente (pero no siempre) celebrado durante la última semana de septiembre, este evento anual destaca el valor del acceso libre y abierto a la información y reúne a toda la comunidad del mundo de los libros: bibliotecarios, educadores, autores, editores, libreros, y lectores de todos los tipos, en apoyo compartido de la libertad de buscar y expresar ideas.” Más sobre la Semana de los Libros Prohibidos>
