Durham County Library to Serve as Warming Center
In light of the inclement weather forecast for Friday, December 5 and Saturday, December 6, select Durham County Library locations throughout Durham will serve as designated warming centers during their normal operating hours of 9:30 a.m. – 6 p.m. Main Library, East Regional Library, North Regional Library, South Regional Library, Southwest Regional Library, and the Stanford L. Warren Branch Library will act as warming sites.

Durham County Names Dana Conners as Library Director
Durham County Government is pleased to announce the appointment of Dana Conners as the new director of the Durham County Library, effective January 5, 2026. Following a nationwide search, Conners was selected for her leadership, experience, and thoughtful vision for public libraries.

Durham County Library to Open for Sunday Hours
Beginning Sunday, October 5, Durham County’s Main Library location in downtown Durham will reopen for Sunday hours. The Durham community is invited to visit from 1 – 6 p.m. Please note that Durham County Library’s six other brick-and-mortar locations throughout the County will remain closed on Sundays. Accompanying Sunday hours at Main Library is a modification of the Bragtown Branch Library’s Monday hours. The location will now be open Monday – Friday, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Durham County Library Bragtown Branch to Modify Opening Hours
Beginning on Monday, September 8, Durham County Library’s Bragtown Branch will modify its Monday opening hours to 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. The library branch will now be open from Monday – Friday, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Originally opening in 1962 as a branch of the Stanford L. Warren Branch Library, Bragtown Branch Library serves as an important resource hub for what was once a predominantly rural area of Durham County.
