Sandra has 31 years of library experience. As Assistant Library Director, she ensures that facility needs are met for the seven library locations that comprise the Durham County Library system. She works closely with facility managers to identify and resolve building concerns and needs and oversees various vendor contracts, including security and custodial contracts. She also oversees Durham County Library’s strategic planning process. Her favorite thing about working at Durham County Library is getting to know and work with the wonderful and talented staff.

Prior to working in the library profession, Sandra was a Cash Management Coordinator for Merrill Lynch Brokerage Firm. She loves reading cat fiction, and one of her favorite authors is Rita Mae Brown. She’s very mechanical and loves to tinker and fix stuff. If she were not a librarian, her second dream career would be as an aircraft mechanic. She would to like move to Italy and tour all the vineyards.
