Gavin grew up in Myrtle Beach, SC, but has always preferred trees to sand. Before starting as Main Library’s Teen Librarian, he had jobs in 3 different kinds of libraries, but youth services has always been his favorite. In his current position, Gavin works to foster an environment that is inclusive, equitable, and accessible, and honors the needs, interests, and agency of teens. Some of his favorite books are Felix Ever After by Kacen Callender, I Wish You All The Best by Mason Deaver, and Night Sky With Exit Wounds by Ocean Vuong. Gavin also likes fiber arts, tea, graphic novels, learning about languages, talking about queer representation in media, and the Great British Bake Off.
